The Wild

When I traveled to Africa in 2007, it was still this sense of the wild that resonated with me. I witnessed the majestic integrity and power of the animals roaming and hunting in their natural landscape, untethered, without fences. When I traveled to Africa in 2007, it was still this sense of the wild that resonated with me. I witnessed the majestic integrity and power of the animals roaming and hunting in their natural landscape, untethered, without fences. There, in the landscape that I'd dreamed about since my childhood, I understood the pull it always had on me. The sky was bigger than I'd imagined and the horizons ran on - endless. I wondered if there could be any other place in the world with these big skies, wide swaths of land, where the wild animals were the tenants and we were the interlopers.
